Why Zamla

Science doesn't speak for itself.

Strong clinical data alone doesn't change practice. Physicians, payers, regulators, and patients need to understand what your data means for them.

That is the work of Medical Affairs, and for an emerging biotech it is easy to start too late or get wrong. Zamla fills the gap between R&D and commercialization. We turn trial results into a clear scientific story and engage key opinion leaders long before launch.

Traditional consulting firms
Strategy without execution.
Marketing agencies
Tactics without scientific depth.
Zamla
Senior Medical Affairs leadership embedded in your team, owning both strategy and execution.

Meet Our Founder

Ruth Haile-Meskale, PharmD, MBA

Founder & Principal

Behind every breakthrough therapy is a patient who can't afford to wait. Ruth has spent 14 years making sure they don't have to.

Ruth's career spans both the field and the strategy table. As a Medical Science Liaison, she built the trusted relationships with physicians, thought leaders, and patient organizations that remain at the heart of her work. As Senior Medical Director, Rare Renal Diseases, at Novartis, she shaped medical strategy at the highest level. Along the way, she has helped lead multiple product launches. At Spark Therapeutics, she helped launch Luxturna®, the first FDA-approved gene therapy for a genetic disease. At Novartis, she served as medical launch lead for Vanrafia® (atrasentan) in IgA nephropathy. Her team won the 2025 US Business Excellence Award for readying three launches in under eight months, including the first and only treatment for C3 glomerulopathy.

She knows how to build from zero. Ruth was a founding member of the Medical Affairs field teams at ZS Pharma and Spark Therapeutics, creating the training, processes, and KOL strategy those teams were built on. As Head of Medical Affairs Strategy at Chinook Therapeutics, she led a team of medical directors, built a global scientific council, and guided the medical plan through the company's acquisition by Novartis.

Ruth holds a PharmD and an MBA from Mercer University and completed the Rutgers Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowship in Medical Affairs. She serves on the Medical Affairs Professional Society's Medical Strategy & Launch Excellence Working Group. Clients get the rigor of big pharma with the speed and hands-on ownership a growing biotech needs.

Great science only changes lives when it reaches the bedside, and Medical Affairs is how it gets there. When clinicians truly understand a therapy, they can choose it with confidence, and patients get treatment that changes their lives. I started Zamla so that every promising therapy, no matter the size of the company behind it, reaches the clinicians and patients who need it.
